Cancer affects everyone – the young and old, the rich and poor, men, women and children – and imposes a tremendous burden on patients, families and societies. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world.The detection of cancer brings with it a range of concerns and fears for the patient and their family, ranging from identifying the treatment plans to organizing finances, arranging accommodation and ensuring complete care through their cancer journey.
About Us
In 2015 Utsaaah Foundation was established with the aim to be a source of support and assistance to patients taking treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital & other hospitals, and to identify important resources that would help them to manage their lives through treatment and beyond.
Our uniqueness is that we have those fighters who successfully won the battle against cancer and now they are willing to be steadfast companions with other fighters to win their battle. Patients are encouraged to fight their battle by inspiring them through the living examples of our team, who are themselves cancer survivors. We ensure that even the smallest hurdle faced by patients & their family is overcome, helping with all things that patients, caregivers and families affected by cancer want and need. We make sure that with minimum effort patients get maximum results to complete their treatment and increase patient survivorship.
We strive to put a smile on the faces of patients & their families as they struggle to cope with the impact of the illness, through creating awareness, providing guidance and holding their hands every step of the way through this difficult journey.
We have served approximately 13,000 patients till mid 2021, by giving them ration, diagnostic, financial and emergency help. Through our guidance and support they have collectively received Rs. 6,07,46,125 (Rs. 6.07 crores) for their treatment.
Mission
- To create awareness among patients and their families regarding the various resources available to support their battle to overcome cancer.
- To assist patients to procure maximum financial support to ease the burden, sustain and complete their treatment.
- To motivate and empower patients and their care givers to take active responsibility of the treatment.
- To create an atmosphere of understanding and empathy to remove the fear of cancer, and to instill hope & positivity to overcome their illness.
