With finite access to cancer care in India, numerous patients turn to Mumbai for treatment. Accommodation in Mumbai and especially near Tata Memorial Hospital is one of the biggest challenges faced by patients and their caretakers. Due to financial restraints, many patients have been left to sleep on the streets because accommodations are scarce and expensive in Mumbai. Treatment and their stay through the course of the treatment, usually is a long drawn out one. Most patients have to undergo chemotherapy cycles and/or radiation in intervals of days, with gaps of between 2 to 21 days in between each cycle, and total duration can be from 3 months up to 1 year. The challenge is to find free or cheap accommodation as close to the Hospital as possible, but at the same time have a homely atmosphere to retire to after a stressful day. Our team helps the patient and families to find appropriate accommodation at the earliest.
